Daughter of Jesse B. and Elizabeth J. Moulton Pepper (see 1860 Winn Parish Census). On the census, her middle initial was recorded as F. Her tombstone was recorded June 21, 1956 by the DAR for the Louisiana Tombstone Inscriptions series, Volume IV Jackson Parish (see page 98). Her name was recorded as Floriance. Her listing was in between Phoebia E. Walker and Florence's uncle, E.O. Pepper. In 1966, Richard Briley III recorded Florence's middle name as "Eleriah" in his book, "Briley's Memorial History & Cemetery Directory of Winn Parish Louisiana". Pepper researcher, Myrtice Pepper Sikes reported in the 1970s that the little girl's headstone was in pieces. Her burial is the oldest known in the cemetery.
