EMORY N. BOWMAN
Emory Nelson Bowman, son of Perry and Matilda Bowman, was born May 29, 1891, in Melrose, Iowa, and passed away at his home in Rochester, Minnesota, November 20, 1938.
He was a graduate of Chariton high school and the law school in Iowa City. He was admitted to the bar of the State of Iowa and served one term as county attorney of Lucas county. He served his country during the World War and was a member of the Methodist church, American Legion, Masons and Odd Fellows.
He was united in marriage to Myrtle McFrye on August 23, 1919 in Denver, Colorado. He has lived for the past twelve years in Rochester, Minnesota.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and one stepson, True Daniels; also his aged mother, Mrs. Matilda Bowman, one sister, Mrs. Grace Threlkeld, and two brothers, Guy and Delbert, all of Chariton, and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Paul H. Hicks, of the Methodist church, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Miley funeral home in Chariton, and burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
