Mrs. Newman Henry Barker Passes At Age 77; Services Sunday

Mrs. Esther Caroline Barker, 77, wife of Newman Henry Barker, died at the family residence in North Ogden Friday afternoon, following an illness of two years.
Mrs. Barker was born in North Ogden on September 2, 1857, a daughter of Abraham and Mary Wheeler Chadwick. she was married to Mr. Barker in the L.D.S. endowment house in Salt Lake City, December 19, 1878. Mrs. Barker had lived in North Ogden her entire life and was an active member of the L.D.S. ward there, especially in the Relief society and as a visiting teacher.
She is survived by her husband and nine sons and daughters: Mrs. Lorenzo Ward, Mrs. Glorence Manning, Mrs. E. J. Marshall, Mrs. M. H. Berrett, Charles N., Clarence M. and Aldro J. Barker, North Ogden; Mrs. Chester Engstrom and Mrs. Wayne Grow, Huntsville. She is also survived by 48 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; also eight brothers and sisters: mrs. Elijah Shaw, Mrs. David E. dandall, Mrs. Elizabeth Montgomer, Mrs. John A. Woodfield and John Chadwick, North Ogden; George Chadwick, Star Valley, Wyo., Thomas Chadwick, Farmington, and Mrs. Lizzie Ann Linford, Garland.
Funeral services will be held at one o'clock Sunday afternoon in the North Ogden L.D.S. chapel with Bishop Harold S. Campbell officiating. Friends may call at the home in North Ogden this evening and Sunday until hour of services. Interment will be made in the North Ogden cemetery under direction of the Deseret Mortuary.
