Carl O. Augdahl was born July 10, 1875 in Brandon township, Douglas County, Minn., the son of Frederick and Olive Augdahl. He was baptized and confirmed in West Moe Lutheran church in Moe township. He grew to manhood on his parent's farm, and on July 10, 1897 was united in marriage to Thea Larson in the West Moe church by Rev. O. Juul. Mr. and Mrs. Augdahl farmed in Brandon township until 1948 when they retired and moved to the village of Brandon. After the death of his wife he resided at the Bethany Home in Alexandria, Minn.
Carl Augdahl died at the Bethany Home, Aug. 20, 1967 at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 10 days. He was preceded in death by his wife Thea and two sons Frederick and James, also his sister (Mattie) Mrs. Julius Larson. He is survived by five sons and two daughters: Clifford of Brandon, Edwin of Alexandria, Mrs. Mable Landeen of Minneapolis, (Hazel) Mrs. Howard Pederson of Minneapolis, Philip of Milnor, N.D., Lloyd of Minneapolis and Warren of Kensington. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. He was a charter member of Grace Lutheran church.
Carl Augdahl was active in local affairs having served on the town board, school board, creamery board, and other organizational boards.
Funeral services were held Aug. 23, 1967 at the Grace Lutheran church, Brandon, Minn., Rev. Hoversten officiated. Pallbearers were Dennis Augdahl, Douglas Augdahl, Richard Augdahl, James Augdahl, Michael Augdahl, Jerome Augdahl. Interment was made in the Brandon cemetery.
