Clifford Thomas Augdahl was born September 21, 1901, in rural Brandon, Minnesota, the son of Cal and Thea (Larson) Augdahl. Clifford attended school in Brandon and as a young man worked on a threshing crew in the Brandon area. He then moved to Chicago where he worked in construction with his cousins. Clifford returned to Minnesota where he was employed at the co-op gas station at Brandon. Clifford also worked for the Hoplin Hardware Store before taking employment in 1957 as a custodian of the Brandon school. He was the first custodian to work in the newly built Brandon High School.
on June 25, 1941, Clifford was united in marriage to Margaret Campbell at Bemidji. They were the parents of three sons and two daughters. For the past several years, Margaret and Clifford spent their winters in Georgia.
Clifford had a strong interest in politics and enjoyed reading a daily newspaper. He also enjoyed following sporting events, particularly football and baseball.
Clifford died at the Peach Belt road Nursing Home at Warner Robins, Georgia on March 4, 1996. He was 94 years of age.
Surviving him are his wife Margaret of Warner Robins, GA; children: Clifford and wife, Linda Augdahl of Warner Robins, GA; Michael and wife Roberta of King City, CA; Robert and wife Judi of New Hartford, CT; Susan and husband Myron Lund of Westminster, CA; Catherine and husband Kenneth Molacek of Wallingford, IA; two brothers: Lloyd and wife Geneva Augdahl of Aelxandria; Warren and wife Lorraine Augdahl of Alexandria; Sister Hazel Pederson of Alexandria; sister-in-law Ann Augdahl of Alexandria; 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers and one sister.
Funral services were held at Grace Lutheran Church on March 9, 1996 with Rev. Jake Dyrhaug officiating. Interment was in Brandon Cemetery with David Pederson, Jim Augdahl, Ralph Ostlund, Francis Fuller, Charles Rossum and Cliff Strom acting as pallbearers. Arrangements with Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria.
