Edwin Arthur Augdahl of Alexandria, Minnesota, died February 16, 1992 at the Knute Nelson Home.
Ed was born September 18, 1903 in Brandon, the son of Carl and Thea (Larson) Augdahl. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Brandon. After graduating from Central High School in Alexandria he worked in Minneapolis briefly. He returned to Brandon to work at the Brandon Creamery for 22 years. He married Anne Elizabeth Rogney on January 1, 1931. They lived and worked in the Brandon area until 1947 when he purchased the creamery in Walker. They remained there until 1959 when they moved to Alexandria. Ed was employed at Land O'Lakes until his retirement in 1968.
Ed had a real talent for refinishing furniture and caning chairs. He especially enjoyed talking about politics, following the financial world, and his family. His life was a wonderful example to his children and he was a loving husband to his wife, Anne. They enjoyed 61 years of married life. He was very proud of his nine grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his wife, Anne; two sons: Duane and wife Pat Augdahl of St. Paul; Richard and his wife, Kathy Augdahl of Burnsville; two daughters: Mary and husband Marc Stoner of Minnetonka; Linda and Husband Curt Tabbert of Parkers Prairie; nine grandchildren; three brothers: Clifford Augdahl of Iowa; Lloyd Augdahl and Warren Augdahl both of Alexandria; and one sister: Hazel Pederson of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Freddy, James and Philip Augdahl; and sister Mabel Augdahl Landeen.
Funeral services were held February 19, 1992 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Keith Lentz and Rev. Ron Otterson officiating. Interment was in the Brandon Cemetery.
