Mrs. Rachel K. Wolfe, 75, of 15748 Marsh Road, widow of Paul C. Wolfe, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Waynesboro Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past six months and was last admitted to the hospital after becoming critically ill on Monday.

She was born in Washington Township on Jan. 13, 1906, a daughter of the late Jacob and Josephine (King) Keckler. She lived all her life in the Waynesboro area.

She and her husband were married in July, 1944, and moved to the present residence in 1952.

Mrs. Wolfe was a graduate of the Quincy High School with the class of 1925, and she received her bachelor's degree in education from Shippensburg State College in 1929.

Prior to retirement in 1970, she taught in the elementary schools of the Greencastle-Antrim School District for 35 years.

Her husband died in August 1971.

Mrs. Wolfe was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Greencastle-Antrim Women's Club, the Pennsylvania Retired Teacher's Association and Waynesboro Chapter 739, AARP.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ramona Jo Gonder, Waynesboro; four grandchildren; and five brothers and a sister, Floyd Keckler, Andrew Keckler, and Miss Josephine Keckler, all of the Marsh Road; Maxwell Keckler and Carl Keckler, both of Waynesboro; and John Keckler, Greencastle.
