JOHN D. KECKLER, 82, of Town Drive, Greencastle, died at 12:30 pm. Thursday, Nov. 16, 1995, in Chambersburg Hospital.
Born May 7, 1913, in Quincy Township, he was a son of the late Jacob O. and Josephine (King) Keckler.
He and his wife of 62 years, Helen V. (Mowen) Keckler, were married Sept 4, 1933.
He was a 1932 graduate of Greencastle High School.
In his early life, Mr. Keckler farmed in the Quincy area. He then worked at Teledyne Landis Machine of Waynesboro for 37 years.
He attended Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle.
Mr. Keckler was a member of the Eagles Club Inc. of Waynesboro, the Greencastle Senior Men's Club and the national AARP.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Keckler is survived by one son, Maynard L. Keckler of Waynesboro; one daughter, Rebecca Ann Lucas of Morristown, N.J.; three brothers, Maxwell Keckler and Carl Keckler, both of Waynesboro, and Andrew Keckler of Chambersburg; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, one half sister, two brothers and one half brother.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, with the Rev. Donald M. Bohn officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
