MRS. CHESTER C. POUSH

Harriette Maude Gookin, daughter of Clarke and Mary Gookin, was born near Chariton, Iowa, Dec. 26, 1878, and passed away at the Wayne County hospital July 5, 1956 at the age of 76 years.

She was united in marriage to Chester C. Poush Nov. 4, 1908, and they have lived all their married lives in Lucas county. She became a member of the United Brethren church many years ago.

Remaining to mourn their loss are her husband, Chester; daughters, Mrs. Cecile Denton and Mrs. Mabel Schaper and one son, Stanton; four grandchildren, Norma Jane Hunt, Jerry, Gene and Ronnie Poush; and one great-granddaughter, Pamela Lynn, who was such a joy to her grandmother.

Also surviving are three brothers, William of Hardin, Mont., Thomas of Olivet, Ill., and Lang of Greeley, Colo., two sisters, Mrs. Addie Poush of Chariton and Mrs. Rose Carlson of Corydon, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harley and Joe.

She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and was happy when she could be of help to a neighbor or someone in need. She took great pleasure in her home and in the daily tasks required to make a real home. She always enjoyed church attendance when possible.

She will be sadly missed by the bereaved husband and family.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 8 at 2 p.m. at the Beardsley funeral home by the Rev. Archie Beals, assisted by the Rev. P. H. Blunt. Interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
