Laura was the daughter of William Daniel and Martha Elizabeth Cook Van Horn. She always went by the name Laura. On her head marker she is listed as Laura T. She was named after her grandma Tennessee Leah Vaughn Cook, they always called her Tennie. Laura married Larry Lafferty 1st and they had two children a boy and a girl. She married second Slyvester Dee Stapp on 8 Nov 1941. They had no children. The first few years of their marriage Dee was in the Navy so Laura worked as a waitress and then in a factory while he was over seas. Dee preceeded her in death on July 24, 1985. Her brother Herb Van Horn lived with her and helped take care of her till her death.
