Amanda Pettigrew Expires Yesterday
Mrs. Amanda C. Pettigrew, age 67, wife of Joseph Pettigrew, residing two miles
west of Anderson on State Road 67, [died] yesterday at 5 p.m. at the residence
following an illness of several months. She was a member of the Whetstone
Sisterhood and the Fortville Christian Church.
Surviving besides the husband are three sons, Veir, Kenneth and Cletus
Pettigrew; two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Gwinn and Mrs. Valera Carroll of Anderson;
one brother, Charles Stottlemyer, of here, and two sisters, Mrs. Estella Davis,
of this city, and Mrs. Rebecca Hite, of Pendleton; a half-sister, Mrs. John
Ginder; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to the George McCarty funeral home at Fortville and returned
to the home. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. with burial
in Gravel Lawn Cemetery, near Fortville.
