Entered into eternal rest on the morning of August 23, 2010, Betty Jo Abbott Baize, widow of Ervie Hampton Baize. Residence, Charleston, SC.

The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services in Charleston Seventh Day Adventist Church, Friday, August 27, 2010 at l:00 PM. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Thursday, between 5-7 PM.

Mrs. Baize was born January 19, 1932 in Hartsville, SC, the daughter of James Raymond Abbott and Myra Price Abbott. She was a graduate of Fletcher Academy and retired as a procurement clerk with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command. Mrs. Baize was a member of Charleston Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She is survived; three daughters: LeVica Baize Kirvin (Charlie) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Robin Baize Wilson (Michael) of Johns Island, SC and Anji Baize Elliott (Billy) of Johns Island, SC; by one son: William "Randy" Baize of Charleston, SC; one sister: Millie A. Evans of Patrick, SC; three sisters-in-law: Opal Abbott of Florence, SC, Aleene Baize of Charleston, SC and Pearl Baize of Berthoud, CO; three grandchildren: Mitchell Wilson (Tabatha) of Charleston, SC, Trey Hill (Gwen) of Cordesville, SC and Tiffany Brown (Teddy) of Charleston, SC; eight great grandchildren: Colby and Hailey Wilson, Thomas, Dallas and Hampton Hill, Catlin, Meghan and Landon Brown; several Loving nieces and nephews.

Betty was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, and caregiver to anyone who was less fortunate or in need. The family is very grateful for the wonderful care and compassion provided by the MUSC nurses on the Neuroscience floor and staff of the Hospice Center of Charleston.

Memorials may be made to Children's Hospital MUSC, 171 Ashley Avenue, Charleston, SC 29425 and or to Charleston Seven Day Adventist Church, 2518 Savannah Hwy., Charleston, SC 29414.

Interment, Will be Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
