He served in the Army and was a member of Charleston Sev-enth Day Adventist Church. Surviving arc his wife, Betty Abbott Baize, a son, William R. Baize of Charleston; three daughters, Levica Kervin of Mount Pleasant, Robin Wilson of John's Island and Angela Baize of Charleston; a brother, Allison Baize of North Charleston; a stepsister, Bonnita Benner of El Paso, Texas; three grand-children; and a great-grandchild.
