Charles Alfred Beardsley, son of Daniel and Hannah Bailey Beardsley, was born near Delhi, in Delaware County, New York. He was one of nine children.
Always known as Alfred, he moved in about 1809, as a child, with his family, to Licking County, Ohio,. He met and married Margaret Simpson, (1816-1878) in 1834 and they had four children.
Later, probably after Margaret died, Charles moved to just south of Sweetwater, Tennessee, and lived either with or close to his daughters, Annie and Dora.
Alfred died in Sweetwater, in 1890.
