Mrs. Holman Dead

Mrs. Mattie Holman, widow of Mr. Sidney Holman, died at the home of her son, Mr. Henry Holman, at Beckton, Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock.

For several years, Mrs. Holman had been sorely afflicted with rheumatism and this with her advanced age, seventy-eight years, caused her death. She was a woman of beautiful strength of character and was a woman that was much beloved and endeared because of her many noble traits. Although she had been an invalid for several years, yet did she have her very great uplifting influence with her wide circle of friends and loved ones. For many years she had been a consecrated member of the Christian Church. Her presence will be greatly missed by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.

She possessed the many virtues of a pious Christian, a devoted, loyal mother, and a truly good woman. She is survived by two sons, Mr. P. W. Holman, cashier of the Farmers National Bank, of this place, and Mr. Henry Holman of Beckton.

Elder J. W. Reaneau conducted the funeral services Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock after which the remains were interred in the family burial ground nearby.
