Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hage Funeral Home for Vern Vain Boggess, 69, Waterloo, who died Sunday (Jan. 31, 1982) at a Charles City nursing home.

Mr. Boggess was a retired farmer and custodian at Waterloo Municipal Airport.

The Rev. Peter Peterson, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Charles City, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Nashua. Flag presentation will be made by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and World War I Veterans.

Mr. Boggess was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Milton (LaVonne) Pittman, Magnolia, N.C., and Mrs. Tom (Marlene) Anderson, Protem, Mo.; two grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Grace) Griffin, Mrs. Lillian Schmitt and Mrs. Joe (Clarinda) Thoe, all of Charles City; Mrs. Same (Gertrude) Houser, New Hampton, and Maebelle, Wisconsin rapids, Wis., and three brothers, Wendell, Rudd; and Leonard and Harley, both of Charles Cit.
