Maebelle (Boggess) Stelzer was born on April 9, 1926 near Bassett, IA. to Calvin and Mabel (Frazee) Boggess. She lived all of her working life in the Wisconsin Rapids, WI area for the Great Northern Paper Co. In 1989 she moved to Charles City, IA, to retire and be near her family.
On May 2, 1992, she married Gilbert Stelzer at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Gilbert died January 19, 2009. In 1993 when Maebelle joined the Catholic Faith her baptismal sponsor was her niece, Karen Shearman. She lived the last 4 1/2 years at the New Hampton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gilbert; three sisters: Grace Griffin, Lillian Schmitt, Clarinda Thoe; eight brothers, Melvin, Vern, Jack, Lawrence, Elmer, Leonard, Wendall, and Harlie Boggess.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Holy Family Parish, New Hampton with Rev. Mark Osterhaus Celebrating the Mass. The pall will be placed by Maebelle's nieces. Lector for the service will be Ryan Dietzenbach and Mabel Zeran. Presenting the offertory gifts will be Connie Marlow and Diane Dietzenbach.
Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, with Ryan Dietzenbach, Tyler Dietzenbach, James Boggess, Bernard Griffin, Dennis Shearman, and Richard Houser serving as pallbearers.
