Frederick Pech
Frederick William Pech, 87-year-old retired farmer, died Wednesday morning July 5 in Jefferson County hospital after being seriously ill two weeks.
He was born May 29, 1874, in Bloomington, IL, the son of William and Henrietta (nee Stark) Pech. He married Mary Theresa Bode on Jan. 5, 1898, at Atlanta, IL, She died in 1929.
In September, 1935, he married Ida Gephart. She died in 1949.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic church at Fairfield, the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name society.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Carrietta Shelangoski of East Moline, IL, Mrs. Mary Shelangoski of Brighton and Mrs. Dorothea Short of Cantril; six sons, Theodore of Walker, John, Warren and David of Fairfield, Louis of Waverly and William of Swea? City; 29 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters.
A son, daughter, brother and sister are dead.
Services were held Fridy, July 7 at 9 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic church, Fairfield, the Rev. O.F. DeCoursey and Francis Henricksen officiating. Burial was at Atlanta.
