Mildred Arlene Ashwill, 86, Carbondale, died Monday, Dec 29, 2003, at Topeka Midland Hospice House.
She was born Aug 8, 1917, at Vassar, to Emil "Dick" and Louise Miller Kersten. She grew up in Vassar and had lived most of her life in the Carbondale Community.
Mrs Ashwill was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Chapel Church in Carbondale.
She married Lewis Ashwill on Nov 11, 1935 at Ottawa. He preceded her in death on Aug 1, 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Dick Ashwill and John Ashwill, both of Carbondale; a daughter, Trudy Surber, Castle Rock, Colo.; three sisters, Marjorie Ogle, Lyndon; Verla White and Doris Turvey, both of Topeka; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, Jan 3, at the Grace Chapel Church in Carbondale. Interment will followat Vassar Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home, Box 160, Lyndon, Kansas 66451.
