Riley was a general favorite among all who knew him. He had just entered high school at Baxter, only having attended about a week when he was taken sick and went home and died after 2 weeks. His remains were buried at Smellage Cemetery, near Boma. Rev. J. D. Harris conducted the funeral in the presence of a large gathering of friends and relatives and school mates.
