The obituary for Mrs. Jacob Bridges of Stewardson stated she had died at her daughter's home. Interment was at Stewardson. Mrs. Ella [Eliza] C. Bridges of Stewardson, wife of Jacob Bridges, died Tuesday evening of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. Carr at Decatur. She was a good Christian woman, and a member of the Christian Church at Stewardson ever since she was 18 years old. Mrs. Bridges was born in Shelby county and lived here all her life. She was married to Jacob Bridges, Dec. 27, 1862. Nine children were born to them, six of whom, with the father, survive. They were John and Ed Bridges of Shelbyville, Mrs. M. Carr of Decatur, James Bridges of Peru, IN, Elmer Bridges of Coffeen, IL and Mrs. Hattie Falk of Herborn. The services were conducted by Rev. O. P. Wright of the First Christian Church of Decatur.
