PANHANDLE - Ruby Wonita Meaker, 82, died Saturday, June 23, 1990.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church of Panhandle with the Rev. David Edwards, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Panhandle Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Meaker, born in Sayre, Okla., had lived in Carson County for 65 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sayre. She married C.E. Meaker in 1925 at Sayre. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ron E. Meaker, in 1982.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert Meaker of Round Rock; four daughters, Inez DeWalle of Colorado Springs, Colo., Betty Janssen of Brownsville, Grace Bulla of Panhandle and Hazel Janssen of Panhandle; a brother, L.D. Crites of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Edith Evans of Farmington, N.M.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be to the State Library of Congress for the Blind in lieu of Flowers.
