William H. Nixdorf, janitor of Franklin and Marshall College, died Friday evening at St. Joseph's Hospital, aged fifty-nine years. A native of Lancaster, he resided here all his life. His parents were the late John and Lavina Graham Nixdorf. Prior to becoming college janitor he deceased was employed at Jacob Pontz's brick yards. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Anna Rodman, and the following children: John P., Ella, wife of Jacob Shimp; Theresa, Ruth, wife of John Judge; Wayne M., Roscoe C., Emma, wife of Elmer Elsen, Warren R. and Elvin C., all of Lancaster. Deceased was a brother of Mrs. Mary L. Winaur, Philadelphia; Mrs. Lettie L. Hahn, George and Mrs. Alice Fitler, all of Altoona; Emma and Charles, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Ella M. Scheid; John and Rolander, of Lancaster. Mr. Nixdorf was a member of St. James' Episcopal Church and Conestoga Assembly, Artisans' Order of Mutual Protection. (Lancaster New Era - Jan 4, 1919)
