Marie A. Breen

BLACKSBURG, Va. —  Marie A. Breen, 84, of Blacksburg, formerly of Hinton, went home to be with the Lord, June 4, 2010 at the Springfield Nursing Center following a short illness.

Born May 22, 1926 at Hinton she was a daughter of the late Mike H. and Lou Annie Breen Ball. Marie was of the Baptist faith, a former cook at the Diner in Hinton, home caregiver, homemaker and she enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, spending time with her family and friends.  

Preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Mike N. and Eldridge Breen; two sisters, Lena Breen and Beulah Switzer and two half-sisters, Goldie and Glenna Breen Bennett.

Those left to cherish her memory include one brother, Billie Breen and wife Janice of Tug Creek; two sisters, Ina Mae Scott of Blacksburg, and Evelene Westmoreland of Radford, Va.; one sister-in-law, Janet Breen of Russell, Ky., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2010 with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Breen Cemetery at Tug Creek.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral parlors.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
