Funeral services for Mrs. Jane E. Smith, 69, who died yesterday at her home south of Argyle, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Burpee-Wood funeral home, 420 North Main street. The Rev. Robert C. Hubbard, pastor of Willow Creek Presbyterian church, of which she was a lifelong member, will officiate, and burial will be in the Scottish cemetery at Argyle.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 o'clock this evening.
A lifelong resident of Argyle community, she was born August 7, 1876, near Caledonia, the daughter of John and Ann Ralston McCathran, pioneer residents of the area. She married William Smith on November 24, 1898. She taught a Sunday school class at the Willow Creek church for many years and was a member of the missionary society.
Surviving are her husband; a son, John R. Smith, Caledonia, and a granddaughter, Mervyle Smith Three brothers and five sisters died previously.
