Adolph was one of 11 children born to Joseph & Eva Fiedler Vaculik. He attended Praha/Engle school. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Army for four years with the 1st infantry Division, 70th Tank Battalion. He attained the rank of sergeant. He was also a postal worker in Madison, Wis. and served overseas in France and Germany in 1945, working with war cleanup and rebuilding. On Nov. 4, 1947, he married Leona Caroline Krupala at St.John's Catholic Church. A lifelong resident of Fayette County, Mr. Vaculik had a farm in Engle for 55 years and lived in Schulenburg for five years. A farmer, rancher and carpenter, Mr. Vaculik enjoyed the cattle business, gardening and carpentry. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Praha, St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg and the American Legion. Adolph died on March 17, 2007, at the age of 89 years. Survivors include his wife; daughters Jeanette Prince and Patricia Singletary and husband Noel; sons Adolph Vaculik Jr. and wife Jeanette, and John R. Vaculik and wife Elvira; a sister Mary Fojtik; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Julie; and eight brothers, Joe, Julius, Jerry, Henry, Frank, Benny, Bill and Emil.
