Gilbert W. Wild, 79, of Route 2, Mayville, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 24, 1981, at St. Agnes Hospital.
Born in the Town of Williamstown on June 10, 1902, he was a son of the late Xavier and Laura Wild. He married Mary Noll on May 9, 1925.
Mr. Wild was employed by Rhode, Cappelle & Zwieg Construction Co., until retiring.
Survivors include his wife; and seven children, Francis, Mrs. LaVern (Arlene) Griep, Jerome, Mrs. Jerold (Delores) Barker and Ronald, all of Route 2, Mayville; Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Hoffmann of Route 1, Knowles; and Richard of Horicon.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Zelma Kragel of Byron and Mrs. Viola Hackbarth and Mrs. Irma Seidschlag, both of Beaver Dam. An infant son and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville. The Rev. Charles Verhalen will officiate, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Moul Funeral Home, Mayville.
