Mr. Braswell, a former member of the Franklin Parish Police Jury, died Wednesday afternoon at the Jefferson Davis Hospital in Natchez. He had been ill for an extended period.
A retired farmer, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Baptist Church.
A native of Mississippi, he had been a resident of the parish for about 50 years. His home was near Wisner.
Mr Braswell is survived by three sons, Lige of Wisner, Purvis, of Winnsboro, and J.H.Braswell, Jr., of Long Beach Calif; three daughters, Mrs H. W. Gill and Mrs I. Z. Mathis of Monroe and Mrs. Lena Bell Thomas of San Antonio, Tex., 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
