GUY CHALMERS WHITE

Guy Chalmers White, son of John and Catherine White, was born in Lucas county Sept. 15, 1884, and departed this life at his home in Chariton, April 12, 1955, at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 28 days.

He was united in marriage to Cora Baker and to this union three children were born. They are Mrs. Nadine Hatfield of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Gladys Street of Humeston and Guy Junior of Chariton.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two sisters, two brothers and a grandson, Guy Harold White. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by four grandchildren, Calvin Hatfield, in the armed services at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., Evelyn Hatfield of Chicago, Ill., and Jacklyn and Jean Ellen Street of Humeston.

Also surviving are two sons-in-law, Kenneth Hatfield of Chicago and Roland K. Street of Humeston, one daughter-in-law, Marlene V. White of Chariton, one sister, Mrs. Hazel Baker of Des Moines, one brother, Thomas B. White of Chariton, several nieces, nephews and many other relatives.

As a young man he joined the United Presbyterian church in English township. He had been affiliated with the Masonic Order in Chariton for many years.

Guy was a kind and loving husband and father, and when his health permitted he was always ready to lend a helping hand in any time of need. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home Friday, April 15, at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. A. E. Beals. Burial was in the Chariton cemetery with graveside services in charge of the Masonic Lodge.
