John Perry Hamilton married Ethel Hester Gilmore on 25 December 1918 in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives. Rev. T.E. Bowman, the pastor of the Methodist Church, united the couple in marriage at the home of the bride's mother in Graham, Texas. After the ceremony, the couple left on an eastbound Rock Island train for Dallas to spend the holidays. Both the bride and groom were raised in Graham. The couple moved away from Graham in 1930 to live at Kamay, Texas. The couple moved to Electra in 1971 from Kamay, Texas.

Mr. Hamilton served in World War I with the 132nd Field Artillery, 36th Division.

His parents were pioneer residents of Graham, Texas.

Survived by his wife; one sister - Mrs. Pearl Robertson, one daughter-in-law - Mrs. Dawn Hamilton.

One son, Donald Perry Hamilton preceded him in death.
