McFARLAND, GEORGE T., 68, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (April 23, 1987) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Bay Pines. Born in Louisiana, he came here in 1971 from Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a carpet and vinyl installer. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Andy Anderson American Legion Post 125, Gulfport, Sunshine City VFW Post 6827, Moose Lodge 1145 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3658, all of St. Petersburg. He attended Holy Family Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Anita McFarland, St. Petersburg; his [step] mother, Billie McFarland Grice, Louisiana; eight brothers, Bobby Joe, Washington, W.R., Beaumont, Texas, Loran, Bud, Pete and Sam, all of Louisiana, Charles, Oregon, and Lester McFarland-Wheeler, Texas; five sisters, Wardell Gray, Washington, Cleo Cavaugh, Nancy Gordon, Myra Carr and Thelma Alderson, all of Louisiana.
