Rites Wednesday
Funeral services for Miss Myrtle Louise Goodwin of Prienville, Oregon, will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Gish Chapel with the Rev. O. L. Jones, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Chattanooga and Rev. Charles Hargraves, Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, Frederick, officiating. The body will lie in state at the Gish Funeral Home and burial will be in Frederick Memorial Cemetery.
Miss Goodwin died in the Prienville, Oregon, hospital, following a prolonged illness on October 27, 1956.
Myrtle Goodwin was born November 4, 1908, in Elida, Roosevelt County, New Mexico, the daughter of Jacie L. and Belle Barnett Goodwin. She moved with her parents to Manitou, where she was graduated from high school. She was also graduated from Central State Teachers College, and taught school for many years in Manitou. She had a host of friends, who will be saddened to learn of her death.
She was a member of the Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Goodwin, of Richmond, California, four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Mae Atkins. Richmond. California, Mrs. Estelle Roberts, Pierre, South Dakota, Miss Helena Goodwin, Supply, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Crystal Ochsner, Chattanooga; four brothers, Rev. V. L.
