Marinus Vanderlinden 76 died suddenly Saturday at 1:15 p.m. at his home 1125 N. Elm St. He was a graduate of Iowa State University at Ames where he received his B.S. Degree in engineering in 1925 and his Masters Degree in 1926.

Mr. Vander Linden had resided in Ottumwa for 31 years. He was an employe of the Iowa State Highway Commission for 35 years and was district material engineer district 5 at the time of his retirement in 1975. He was a member of the First Reformed Church at Pella.

He is survived by his wife Leila; a son Ray Vanderlinden of Rockford, Ill; a daughter Mrs. Louise Deam of Wyola, Mont; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter and a sister; Mrs. J. T. McCracken of Bakersfield, California.
Graveside services and burial will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Highland Cemetery at Eddyville with Rev. R. Dulkers of Eddyville officiating. Friends may call at the Reece Funeral Home. -Ottumwa Courier Oct. 27, 1962
