Miss Anne Vander Linden, aged 55 years, passed away at the Mary Greely Hospital at Ames, Iowa, on Sunday, January 22, 1950 after several months illness due to heart ailment. She had served for thirty years as secretary to the Administration Highway Engineer at Ames. Miss Vander Linden was born in Pella, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Vander Linden. She graduated from Pella High School and took a business course in Des Moines.

Surviving are four brothers and two sisters: M. Vander Linden of Ottumwa; George Vander Linden of Milwaukee; Dr. Harry Vander Linden of Hickory, North Carolina; and Miss May Vander Linden of Ames. Funeral services were held at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella on Tuesday afternoon, where burial took place. -Pella Chronicle | Pella, Iowa, Thursday, January 26, 1950

Incomplete information caused errors to appear in the story of Anne Vander Linden who died at Mary Greely Hospital, Ames, Iowa on Sunday , January 22nd. Of six survivors , brothers and sisters, only four were named. Left out were the names of John Vander Linden of Ames, Iowa and Mrs. Margaret McCracken of Durham, North Carolina. Funeral services were held in the First Congregational Church at Ames and short graveside services were held at Oakwood Cemetery, Pella, her resting place.
