Carl (also called Charles) was the 2nd son of Friedrich & Katharina Wendel. After the death of his mother Katharina on Aug. 9, 1912, Carl was committed to the Sheboygan County Asylum for the Chronicly Insane on Nov. 11, 1912 by his younger brother Fred. He lived there for almost 3 years, until he passed away on Oct. 20, 1915. He was buried in the St. Charles cemetery in Charlesburg, WI, where he shares a plot with his brother Serwatzius.
