Peggy J. Whitlock Shade, 61, of 13743 Welty Road, died Monday, July 10, 2000, at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center.
Born Sept. 21, 1938, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Alberta J. Bricker Whitlock.
She was a 1956 graduate of Waynesboro Senior High School.
She was employed at Regency Thermographers Inc. in Waynesboro; then at Grove Worldwide in Shady Grove, Pa., from 1974 to 1990, as a secretary.
She was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren.
She was a member of Delta-Y-Gradale Sorority in Waynesboro, Apple Valley Painters, and National Society of Decorative Painters. She volunteered at Waynesboro Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Shade, whom she married July 17, 1960; one son, Roderick A. Shade of Waynesboro; and two brothers, Paul A. Whitlock of White Marsh, Md., and Gerald L. Whitlock of Quincy, Pa.
She was preceded in death by one son, Timothy C. Shade; one sister, Glenda Whitlock Mumma; and one brother, Ordean Whitlock.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St., Waynesboro. Pastor C. Albert Guyer will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, today from 6 to 9 p.m.
