Mrs. Alberta J. (Bricker) Whitlock, 81, a resident of Franklin County Nursing Home, Chambersburg, and formerly a resident of Hillside Rest Home, Fair­field, and of CV Avenue, Waynes­boro, died at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 1995, in the nursing home. She had been in failing health for the past one and a half years, and critically ill for the past two months. Bom March 26, 1913 in Quincy Township, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Carrie (Bonner) Bricker. She lived all of her life m the Quincy Township and Waynes­boro areas. Mrs. Whitlock and her husband of 53 years, J. Paul Whitlock, were married in June 1931. Mr. Whitlock died on July 23, 1984. Mrs. Whitlock entered Hillside on July 5, 1993, and Franklin County Nursing Home on Feb. 22, 1995. She was employed by Waynes­boro Knitting Mill for a number of years and then worked for the Amberson family for 42 years. Mrs. Whitlock was a member of the former First Christian Church, Waynesboro, where she served on the church board. She also was a member of the National AARP and volunteered at Quincy United Methodist Home. Mrs. Whitlock is survived by two daughters, Peggy J. Shade and Glenda K. Mumma, both of Waynesboro; two sons, Paul A. Whitlock of Balti­more and Gerald L. Whitlock of Quincy; four sisters, Marie Barkdoll and Kathryn Bailey, both of Way­nesboro, Eleanora Rowe of Quincy and Sylvia Wagaman of Fayettevil­le; two brothers. Jack Bricker and Monroe Bricker, both of Waynes­boro; a foster brother, Carroll Tracey of Waynesboro; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ordean Otho Whitlock; a grandson, Tim Shade; a sister, June Bricker; and four brothers, Leo Bricker, Lawrence Bricker, Daniel Bricker and Lester Bricker. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with Pastor M.H. "Ted" Keckler officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
