The funeral of Mrs. Harriet P. Gordon was held Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock from the Friends church in Spiceland, the remains having been taken to the church an hour earlier, where Friends could pay their last respects. Interment was in Circle Grove.
Mrs. Gordon was the wife of Jesse Gordon and was well known in and around Spiceland, where she spent her entire life. She was 75 years of age and her death was due to creeping paralysis, after an illness of over three years. For the past two years she had been unable to walk without assistance.
The deceased was a daughter of William B. and Rebecca Unthank. Her immediate family consisted of her husband and the following children: Gertrude Geneaux, H. D. and W. B. Gordon.
She married Jesse Gordon 17 Dec 1856, Henry County, IN.
