Mary Edith Burch Haynes, 82, of Lafayette, died at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2003, in Regency Place Nursing Facility. Born July 13, 1920, in Paynesville, KY, she married Edward R. Haynes on May 14, 1937, in Corydon. He died February 13, 1981. Mrs. Haynes was a homemaker. She was a past member of Lafayette Home Extension Club. Surviving is a daughter, Diane Judd-Haynes of Lafayette. Friends may call from noon until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003, in Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home, Brookston. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Surviving are 2 grandchildren, Cynthia Johnson and Aaron Judd and 2 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Haynes, who passed at 23 years of age from Hodgkin's disease, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
