COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 06/05/1966
Joseph Lamar Burch, 55, died at 6 a.m. Saturday at his residence at 4230 Wheeler. He was a barber for 15 years and operated a shop at his home. Burch was a native of Painesville, Kentucky. Survivors include his widow, the former Eula Hardesty, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Betty Sue Heavrin, and his mother, Mrs. Edith Burch. The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Nunnelley Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd., and at 9 a.m. at SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 4335 Hazelwood. Burial will be in St. George's Cemetery, Brandenburg, Ky.

Joseph Lamar Burch, 55 years old, of 4230 Wheeler Ave., Louisville passed waay June 4, 1966. Mr. Burch was a barber in Brandenburg fifteen or twenty years ago before he went to Albuquerque, New Mexico for his health. In 1959, when he found he was allergic to tumbleweed pollen, which is abundant in New Mexico, he returned to Kentucky and had lived in Louisville since that time. He is survived by his wife Eula Mae Hardesty Burch and a step-daughter, Mrs. Betty Sue Heavrin of Louisville. His mother, Mrs. Edith Burch, of Louisville, also survives, as do his brothers and sisters, Mrs. Lucille Robinson, formerly of Brandenburg, now of Louisville, Mrs. Ora Brown and Mrs. Mary Haynes, both of Lafayette, Ind., Robert Burch of Louisville, Lonnie Burch of Richmond Hill, NY, and Gusta Harms of Ventura, California. Funeral services Monday June 6, at 8:30 a.m. from Nunnelly Funeral Home and from St. Simon and Jude Church at 9 a.m. Interment followed in St. George Cemetery at Brandenburg.
