Harriet Laritha Jaques was the third child of Samuel Clark Jaques and Luamy Clarkson Jaques, born in Mt. Carmel, Springfield Township, Franklin County, Indiana on February 16, 1851. Her father Samuel died in Mt. Carmel in 1856 and the whole Jaques family migrated to Washington Township, Boone County, Indiana in 1868. Harriet married Linnious Lemuel Pauley on November 26, 1874 in Thorntown. She and her husband were the lovng parents of William Livingston, Oscar Dwight, Clark Ernest, Edna Earl, and Emma Jaques Pauley. Harriet died in Hazelrigg, Boone County, Indiana on November 29, 1902.
