Luamy Clarkson was the daughter of Richard Perkinhon Clarkson and Mary Simpson Clarkson. Luamy was born in Dixmont, Hancock County, Massachusetts which later became a part of Maine. The Clarksons settled Mt. Carmel in Springfield Township, Franklin County, Indiana about 1819. Luamy married Samuel Clark Jaques in Mt. Carmel on September 12, 1842. They lived for a time in Samuel's home in Hanover Township, Butler County, Ohio, but later moved back to Mt. Carmel in 1849. They had four children; Joseph Clarkson, Mary E., Harriet Laritha, and Lewis Willard Jaques. Husband Samuel died November 23, 1854. After the Civil War Luamy and her children migrated west with the Jaques families to Boone County, Indiana where they remained.
