BLYTHE PAYTON
Blythe Jean Payton, 70, Forest Park Healthcare center, died at 10:16 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1992, in Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center.
She was born April 6, 1922, in Peoria, a daughter of Oscar L. and Grace (Howard) Hollenback.
In 1945, she married Elmer East. In 1965, she married Doyle Payton, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of James Reece Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1122 Ladies Auxiliary and had worked at Essex Wire Co. in Peru.
Surviving are six sons, Robert Joseph and Steve East, both of Sharpsville, James East of Union, Mo., John East of Kokomo, Jerry East of Fort Riley, Kan., and Richard "Butch" Hollenback of Peru; a daughter, Janet Weddle of St. Clair, Mo.; a brother, Glenn Hollenback of Sharpsville; a sister, Marjorie Dean Stewart of Tipton; 17 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several step=great-grandchildren. Four brothers, two sisters and two step-grandchildren preceded her in death.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday in Allen Funeral Home at Bunker Hill. The Rev. Larry Bigham will officiate. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery at Bunker Hill.
