William Victor “Vic” PEACOCK was born 2 July 1900 in Comanche County, Texas the son of Bill and Maggie Peacock. Shortly after he was born the family moved to Stonewall county. Vic Peacock met “Ella” SANDERS when her parents worked picking cotton on Bill Peacock's place near Plainview, Texas. Vic Peacock married Ella Sanders 18 December 1921 at Dickens, Texas but later moved to Plainview where Ella and Vic were taking care of Maggie Peacock when she died.
Vic Peacock moved to Roseville in 1943, in late September or early October because his brother Bud Peacock was living there at the time. Bud Peacock worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad during WWII and was able to get Vic on with the railroad. In California Vic Peacock worked much of his life as a section hand or a car man on the railroad. Car men work on box cars by inspecting them and making sure they are all right for use. His son J.R. Peacock also worked for the railroad for about a year when he was discharged from the Navy.
Right after WW II in some little town around Roseville, a dump truck dumped a load where he was working and it hit him. William Victor sustained a back injury and couldn't work after that. He then went into real estate. He bought several houses in Roseville, moved into them fix them up then sell them and buy others.
When Vic Peacock wasn't working, he was on disability. His wife Ella was keeping house during this time. His son J.R. Peacock was married at the time of Vic’s injury and had two kids. Vic Peacock lived in Roseville, California up until the time of his death on 16 May 1965 from a heart attack. He was buried at Citrus Heights, in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. He was the first person buried in the cemetery, which is about 3 miles out of Roseville towards Sacramento. Ella liked to garden, loved ducks and cows and anything to do with farming.
