Morgan (Bud/Buddy) Braxton Peacock was the twelfth child of John William Peacock and Margaret Roden Wilson. He was born on March 11, 1908 in Peacock, Stonewall County, Texas and died April 15, 1996 in Orangevale, Sacramento County, California.
Buddy Peacock was the last child at home when his mother, who had indulged her last baby, died one month after his 15th birthday. He stayed away from home much of the time after her death as he and his father did not get along. He dropped out of school to work for his brothers.
ALL OF THIS WAS IN 1927. J.W. PEACOCK, WITH MORGAN'S CONSENT AND SIGNATURE, WAS APPOINTED GUARDIAN OF MORGAN'S ESTATE. BY HIS MOTHER, MAGGIE R. PEACOCK, DECEASED, HE WAS LEFT SOME INTEREST IN SOME LAND IN HALE COUNTY TEXAS: WEST HALF OF SECTIN NO. 1, BLOCK C-L, FL & RRRR CO, SURVEY, 320 ACRES IN HALE CO. TEXAS. IT WAS SOLD FOR $1,000 , BOND POSTED BY J. W. PEACOCK, OF $2,000. THE LAND WAS SUBSEQENTLY SOLD BY J.W. PEACOCK, FOR $1,000, HOWEVER THERE WAS OUTSTANDING TAXES DUE FOR $2500. BUDDY WAS MISTAKEN WHEN HE THOUGHT J.W. HAD DUPED HIM OUT OF "HIS INHERITANCE.
Alma and Bud were married and divorced three times, the last marriage took place in December 1970 and they were divorced in 1977. They had bought side by side burial plots, where they both have been laid to rest.
