COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Delcie Sparks, 66, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sand Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today, Friday, Feb. 19, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sparks died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 4, 1943, in Overton County to the late Sherman and Celia Wilson McCowan.

Mrs. Sparks and her husband owned and operated Sparks Upholstery. She was a member of Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Her family includes her husband, Jim Sparks of Cookeville; a son, Ronnie Sparks of Cookeville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lola and Carl Key of Monterey and Anna and Loyce McCloud of Cookeville; a brother and sister-in-law, Braden and Betty McCowan of Cookeville; a granddaughter, Michelle Sparks of Cookeville; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Greenwood; two brothers, Earl and Clyde McCowan; a sister, Helen McCowan; and two nephews, Lonnie McCloud and Tommy McCowan.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Bros. Nolen Cantrell and Lannie Vickers will officiate at the services.
