CANTON - Services were Sunday, Nov. 5, at Reed Funeral Home, Canton, for the Rev. Daniel P. Cain, 64, of Louisville, formerly of Cambridge, who died Thursday (Nov. 2, 2000).
He was born April 6, 1935, in Belpre, son of the late Daniel W. and Francis (Milstead) Cain.
The Rev. Cain attended Pike Elementary School and New Concord High School.
He had worked at Milfair Linoleum Co., Cambridge, and was pastor of the Church of Good Shepherd in Cambridge. He later established the Church of the Good Shepherd in Canton. He later retired from the ministry.
For many years he operated a carpet installation business in Canton, until he became disabled.
He enjoyed woodworking, craft shows and flea marketing.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Howard and Edward Cain; a sister, Freda Hood.
He leaves his wife, Linda (Carr) Cain; three sons and their wives, David and Mark of Louisville and Del of Canton; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Dixie) Hardgrove of Canal Fulton; a grandson, Devin Cain; four granddaughters, Molly and Jillian Cain and Alliana and Morgan Hardgrove; three sisters, Mrs. Reed (Wilma) McSpadden of Cambridge, and Mrs. Roland (Eula) Garrett and Glenda Cain, both of Coshocton; two brothers, Donald W. Cain of Canton and the Rev. William Cain of Cambridge.
