Son of Rosa Belle Miller and Abraham Lincoln Cain

Daniel W. Cain, 84, of 5588 Glenn Highway Road, died at 9:31 p.m. Sunday (March 8, 1987) at Guernsey Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 4, 1902, in Marietta, son of the late Abraham L. and Rosa Miller Cain.
Mr. Cain was a miner and steel mill worker and retired from the Cambridge Mental Health Center. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Foursquare Gospel Church and had been in the U.S. Navy.
His first wife, Frances E. Milstead, preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 1972.
He leaves his wife, Velma Baker Johnson; six sons, Anthony J. Cain of Warminster, Pa., Howard A. Cain, of Cambridge, the Rev. Daniel P. Cain of Canton, Donald W. Cain of east Sparta, Edward E. Cain of Arizona, and the Rev. William T. Cain of Cambridge; four daughters, Mrs. August (Freda) Hood of Cambridge, Mrs. Reed (Wilma) McSpadden of Coshocton and Ms. Glenda Cain of Cambridge; one brother, Andrew Cain of Norton; a step son John Johnson of Cambridge; two step daughters, Mrs. Harold (Susie) Moore of Byesville and Norma Johnson of Cambridge; 22 grandchildren;23 great-grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 13 step greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers and three sisters are deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Thorn Funeral Home. At 10 a.m. Wednesday, the body will be taken to the Good Shepherd Foursquare Gospel Church where it will be on public view until time of service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Canton.
