William Dilsaver came to Delaware Co., with his parents about 1812 from Fairfield County. William was a farmer. He died 10 July 1850 and is buried in the Bokes Creek Cemetery, Delaware Co., Sarah Elizabeth is buried besides him.
Jacob and Sarah Jane lived in Union County, Ohio during the Civil War. Jacob served with the 32nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company B.
After the war Jacob and Sarah Jane went to Iowa. Their youngest child was born in Green Bay, Clark County. Some time in the middle 1870's Jacob and family returned to Ohio. Hattie, their youngest child, remembered going from Iowa to Ohio by covered wagon to land left by a Grandfather. The land was not much good so it was sold.
Again the wagon was packed and the family headed to Gratiot County, Michigan. Jacob and Jane may have lived in Gratiot County before the Civil War. Members of both families were in New Haven Township, Gratiot County when Jacob and Jane arrived in 1880. Jacob bought 33 acres in Section 7, New Haven Twp., Gratiot County 1880. They lived here until 1890 when they traded farms with their daughter [Hattie] and her husband, moving to Sumner Township, Section 34 on the Pine River east of the village of Sumner Michigan.
Jacob died here June 4, 1898. He is buried in New Haven Township Cemetery, Gratiot County. Sarah Jane moved to the village of Crystal, Montcalm Co., Michigan, later living in Fair Plains Twp., Montcalm County, where she died September 13, 1909. Sarah Jane is buried beside Jacob in New Haven Cemetery, Lot 66.
Jacob and Sarah had three Children, Forest H. Gearhart, Alida Mae Gearhart and Hattie. A. Gearhart.
