FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR IRA ELYEA, 55
Funeral services for Ira Elyea, 55, were held Monday, March 19 at Murphy Funeral home and Grace Evangelical church, River Grove. Interment was at Memorial Estates cemetery. Elyea died Thursday, Mar. 15 at West Suburban hospital, following an emergency gall bladder operation which was performed Sunday, March 11.
Elyea, who was associated with Howe Bros., inc., of 7101 Grand ave., for over 35 years, was the owner and operator of Sky Haven airport on Wolf rd. from 1942 to 1946. Flying remained his chief interest until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian; son, Lyle; and two grandchildren.

Funeral Monday, March 19. Will lie in state at Grace Evangelical church, River Grove from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m., where services will be held at 2 p.m. Burial Memorial Estates cemetery.
